Food, friends & Great Neighborhoods

Thank you to everyone who came to our first-ever Great Neighborhoods Pizza Night on June 13, 2017.

If you weren’t able to join us, you missed networking with a fascinating group of people. We had a terrific (and sometimes disturbing) conversation about what cities and towns are doing to create more housing choices or, in some cases, the stupid things they’re doing to prevent good development from happening. In addition, our executive director Andre Leroux gave a presentation about real estate trends in Greater Boston. A bunch of you learned what a YIMBY is! Everybody had suggestions for how to build the Great Neighborhoods movement. Here are a few that we’ll follow up on right away:

  • We’re going to regularly send you articles, data, and online resources so that you can educate your friends and neighbors about the benefits of more housing and walkable places;

  • We’ll make it easy for you to reach out to your legislators and local officials; and

  • We’ll have more fun events around the state for connecting with other like-minded people.

If your friends also care about getting more good development in their neighborhood and creating awesome, walkable places to live, invite them to join Great Neighborhoods by signing up here. We challenge you to send this to 2 people and share on social media!
